DYF Guide Right Students Visit the Campus of Loyola University Chicago

The DYF mentoring program called “Guide Right” just completed another successful 2018 Fall College Tour. The largest group the DYF has ever taken, a total of ninety-five (95), eighty-one (81) students, five (5) school chaperones and nine (9) members from the Maywood Wheaton Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. traveled to Loyola University, Chicago on December 4, 2018 . The student were picked up at the five (5) high schools (Bartlett, Bolingbrook, East Aurora, Matea Valley and South Elgin High schools) in which the DYF has their guide right program and were taken by bus to Loyola's lake shore campus. All the students wore their Guide Right polo shirt for campus recognition. Loyola is the largest Jesuit University in the country. However, thirty -nine percent (39%) of students are non Catholic. Loyola offers eighty (80) majors and eighty (80) minors. The University has a strong medical curriculum with students majoring in Biology and Chemistry. Many graduates go on to medical school. The undergraduate student-to-faculty ratio is 14:1 (26 average class size). The student enrollment is 16,673 (11,420 undergraduates).
